About Pathé'O

Pathé’O is a celebrated West African fashion brand founded in Abidjan in the 1970s by Burkinabè-Ivorian designer Ainé Pathé Ouédraogo, known professionally as Pathé’O. Beginning as a self-taught tailor in Treichville, he built one of Africa’s most influential fashion houses. The brand is known for its vibrantly patterned shirts, dresses, and tailored garments, showcasing African textiles, bold colors, and traditional motifs blended with contemporary style. Pathé’O gained international recognition when his designs were worn by Nelson Mandela and other African leaders and public figures, helping elevate African fashion on the global stage. Beyond clothing, the brand holds strong cultural significance as a symbol of African pride, creativity, and cultural diplomacy, affirming the value of African design, craftsmanship, and identity in post-independence and global contexts.
